Creating an asset cost type

 

Prerequisite

  • Access to the Configuration > Asset > Cost type (AS058) menu.

 

Introduction

The Configuration > Asset > Cost type (AS058) menu allows for creating all cost types for the assets. Cost types are events that generate expenses for the organization, such as maintenance, acquisition, cleaning, etc.

Creating an asset cost type

1. Access the Configuration > Asset > Cost type (AS058) menu.

2. Click on the Add icon button.

3. On the screen that will open, enter an ID # and a name for the cost type.

4. Enter the default value of the cost, if you want to predefine the value of the type.

The default value will be shown filled when the cost type is associated with an asset, but it can be edited.

 

5. Click on the Add icon button to save it.

Conclusion

Cost types can be associated through the Cost > Costs tab of the asset data screen.

Moreover, they can be used to define the default cost types of the maintenance, calibration, and usage events, becoming fixed fields on the screens of said events.
