How to use the document transmittal form
Introduction
A document transmittal form is a required document that must accompany the transport of commodity in national territory. It must be issued before the start of the transport and remain linked to the load until the moment of unloading, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
This document is intended to gather and relate the load's information and documents, such as invoices, bank slips, insurance policies, and other records necessary to identify the sender, the recipient, the transported goods, and the transport conditions.
To be considered valid, the document transmittal form must contain data such as the sender's and recipient's tax identification and address, description and quantity of the goods, loading and unloading locations, in addition to the start date and time of the transport.
According to the legislation, issued transport documents must be reported to the Tax Authority in advance, which will provide a validation code. This code must accompany the commodity during the entire transport, until unloading.
