Configuring a generative AI and NLP API

The configuration described in this article is applicable to version 3.0 of the system. For the configuration of previous versions, click here.

 

 

Prerequisites

  • SoftExpert Suite environment hosted in the cloud.
  • Access to the Configuration > Integration center (COP010) menu.
  • "AI features'' permission enabled in Configuration > Access group (CM011) > Other permissions > AI features.

 

Introduction

The Gen AI & NLP tab, available in the Integration center of SoftExpert Copilot, is used to configure two API categories:

  • The generative AI API, specialized in producing or improving textual content from commands.
  • The NLP API, capable of suggesting improvements, providing contextual information, and aligning texts to the readers' needs.

This article will cover the procedure for configuring and validating these APIs, as well as practical application examples for the features in SoftExpert Suite.

 

Configuring a generative AI API

1. Access the Configuration > Integration center (COP010) menu.

2. Click on the Gen AI & NLP tab.

3. In the Generative AI & Natural Language Processing section, select the default SoftExpert Suite API.

Only the default SoftExpert Suite API, based on the Claude models by Anthropic, is available for use.

 

4. Click on the Save icon.button.

Validating Natural Language Processing (NLP) APIs

1. Access the Configuration > Integration center (COP010) menu.

2. Click on the Gen AI & NLP tab.

3. In the NLP section, the server address will be displayed. To check if it is up and running, click on Validate API.

4. Click on the Save icon. button.

  • With the APIs enabled, the AI agent and AI commands buttons are displayed in the description fields of the activities.
  • The AI agent button allows generating content based on commands written by the user.
  • The AI commands button offers options for changing parts of the text. The available actions are:
    • Summarize, Improve, Simplify, Expand upon, Trim.
    • Change tone: Professional, Casual, Direct, Bold, Friendly.
    • Change style: Business, Legal, Journalistic, Medical, Poetic.
  • The With AI agent button will also be displayed to help in the generation of records.
