MSA - 3.1
Comment recording option integrated into MSA studies and reports
In addition to statistical rigor, Measurement system analysis (MSA) requires visibility over data collection conditions, as operational factors can impact indicators such as repeatability, reproducibility, bias, linearity, and stability, compromising the interpretation of the results.
To meet this need, version 3.1 of SoftExpert MSA now offers:
- Structured comment recording in all studies and reports, allowing the user to document, in a centralized manner, relevant events, such as operator changes, equipment adjustments, and process variations.
- Permission control in the Test comment field, ensuring that only authorized users can edit the information.
- Complete traceability, with all comments persisted and linked to the study throughout its entire life cycle, as well as displayed directly in the interface, both when executing and viewing measurements, without the need for additional navigation.
- Automatic incorporation of comments into MSA reports, ensuring that the operational context is always associated with the statistical results.
In this way, the feature enhances the robustness of the analyses by integrating the operational context with statistical data, optimizing decision-making, reducing analytical inconsistencies, and promoting the standardization of the recorded data.

Stability study updated for the MSA standard - 4th Edition
Stability analysis is essential to evaluating the reliability of measurement systems, as it verifies the consistency of results over time.
As established in the MSA 4th Edition manual, this type of study requires not only periodic measurements, but also the correct structuring of the data and the use of appropriate statistical concepts to ensure the validity of the analyses.
In accordance with this guidance, SoftExpert MSA evolves the stability study to ensure total adherence to the AIAG recommendations, adopting the concept of sub-group, replacing the previous use of the term “sample”, aligning the system's terminology with the recommended statistical practice.
This change was reflected in the planning and execution screens, as well as in charts and reports, ensuring consistency in the interpretation of the data throughout the entire process.
Furthermore, the feature now includes date and time recording in each measurement, allowing the correct temporal analysis of the data, as required for monitoring stability.
This improvement is essential to evaluating the behavior of the measurement system under actual usage conditions, considering factors such as operation frequency, recalibrations, and environmental variations.
Thus, the stability study in SoftExpert MSA now offers greater methodological rigor and more robust support for statistical analysis, increasing the reliability of results and the quality of decisions based on measurement data.
